Founded in 2018 by half Sri Lankan & Sri Lankan duo- Danushka Udayanga & Natasha Sand. The Hideout was built as a creative space where our passion for homegrown local produce combined with visionary dishes & carefully curated craft drinks could come to life.
A love for authentic homemade Mexican cooking was born during our travels to Mexico, & we realized that a lot of the traditional Mexican cooking practice used was very similar to those of the Sri Lankan cooking art.
The idea of a Mexican fusion taqueria & bar developed into The Hideout, Unawatuna.
Our meals are cooked by local women using traditional techniques, local & Mexican spices, fusion approaches & a whole lot of love. All our cocktails are crafted carefully in house, exercising innovative blends & infuses. We welcome you to share our love for a fresh & authentic rustic meal.
